(For details of each holiday please visit our holidays page. This will be updated as information is confirmed.)

If you've never helped on a Newman Trust holiday before but would like to, please follow the link below and fill out the application form. Read the instructions and, if you've not done so already, it’s worth checking out our FAQs about the holidays and volunteering.

Applying on a holiday is a real commitment. If you accept a place a child will be depending on you to commit to the whole week – not just in turning up at the venue but also by doing your best to give them a fantastic time. If you fail to attend after accepting a place it is likely that a child will not be able to go on the holiday. If you are unsure in the early stages please apply, but if accepted onto a holiday only accept that place if you are sure you will be able to attend the entire week. Sometimes drop-outs are unavoidable so if this does happen, or looks like it might, please inform your Holiday Organiser (HO) as soon as possible.

Important dates:

From January: Volunteers apply

End of March: Volunteer application deadline

By end of April: Volunteers informed about the result of their application (some flexibility may be needed)

Early May: New volunteers attend a brief recruitment session at one of six UK venues

Mid-July to end of August: Holidays

First of all you will have to complete our online application form, from January (link and details below). The application process for volunteers will close on the last day of March. After this closing date, the applications will be reviewed by the relevant HOs and they will aim to communicate their decision on potential places by the end of April.

Next you will have to meet one of us at one of our recruitment sessions. These are usually quite brief - just part of a morning or afternoon.

In exceptional circumstances, we may offer an individual interview at another time or place; please contact us if this is the only way you would be able to apply.

Details for recruitment sessions will be added below as soon as they are scheduled. Holiday organisers will confirm date, time and venue to those attending.

Recruitment sessions are a requirement to complete your Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or Scottish Disclosure (SD) check. You will need to bring appropriate identification (details will be sent to you) to complete the background check. It’s also a good opportunity for us to meet you and answer any other questions you might have. Though technically not a formal interview it is important for us to personally vet all applicants, in addition to getting a DBS/SD. Therefore, a final decision on places will be made after the recruitment session.

Once your place is confirmed and your DBS/SD and references come through you'll be an 'approved helper', ready to start the holiday.
