Northeast holiday at Ampleforth
The Northeast holiday at Ampleforth, Yorkshire
Formerly held at Queen Mary's, this holiday is now based at the spectacular venue of Ampleforth College, set in a beautiful valley in North Yorkshire.
The catchment area for this holiday is usually centred around Middlesbrough, Stockton, Darlington and Newcastle, although we have accepted children from other surrounding areas too (within 40 minutes of Middlesbrough).
Our volunteers are amazing people who come from a variety of backgrounds, teachers, nurse, doctors, physios to name just a few of the many talents brought to the holiday, and all with an enthusiastic and caring nature.
Recent activities on this holiday have included…
- Uncle Mal the magician
- Treasure hunt
- Big Sheep Little Cow farm
- Ice cream parlour
- Cold cooking
- Arts and crafts
- Helicopter visit
- Total Wipeout
- Talent show
The Newman Trust really does enhance the lives of the disabled children who attend.
The experience was extremely important to my son – thank you both and to all the team again, and to his helper who he adored spending time with!
When my son talks about the holiday his little face lights up.
As a family we gratefully appreciate all you have done for us. It takes special people to do something like that and you are up there with the best.
My daughter was with a group of very caring, friendly and hard-working staff who helped her to have a very memorable holiday.
This whole experience has helped [my daughter] to grow in confidence and has been a real boost to her social skills.
