- Get involved
The Newman Trust really does enhance the lives of the disabled children who attend.
The experience was extremely important to my son – thank you both and to all the team again, and to his helper who he adored spending time with!
When my son talks about the holiday his little face lights up.
As a family we gratefully appreciate all you have done for us. It takes special people to do something like that and you are up there with the best.
My daughter was with a group of very caring, friendly and hard-working staff who helped her to have a very memorable holiday.
This whole experience has helped [my daughter] to grow in confidence and has been a real boost to her social skills.
(For dates and venues of this year's holidays, please visit our holidays page.)
Firstly it’s great to have you back; we are sure you all know exactly how much getting involved in a Newman Trust Holiday means to the children and their families. Thanks for getting involved again – here’s to another year of madness!
We are sure you're aware that applying on a holiday is a real commitment. If you accept a place a child will be depending on you to commit to the whole week – not just in turning up at the venue but also by doing your best to give them a fantastic time. If you fail to attend after accepting a place it is likely that a child will not be able to go on the holiday.
If you are unsure as to your availability in the summer please apply now, but only accept the place if you are sure you will be able to attend the entire week. Sometimes drop-outs are unavoidable so if this does happen, or looks like it might, please inform your Holiday Organiser (HO) as soon as possible.
How to apply
- Fill in the application form on this website.
- Applications close on Friday 31st March 2017. Holiday Organisers will aim to confirm whether or not you have a place on a holiday by the end of April 2017.
- IF your Newman Trust SD or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is out of date (more than 3 years old by the start of the holiday), please complete your application by midnight on Friday 10th February 2017, so that an online check can be started. Please fill this in as soon as possible, otherwise you could miss out on the holiday. If you don't apply by Friday 10th February you will have to attend a recruitment session, following the same process as all new helpers (click to view details). Once your new background check come through you'll be an 'approved helper.' All you’ll need to do then is to confirm your place ready to start the holiday. Once successful we will ask you to confirm your place.
- More details about the venue, when to arrive, what to bring etc for your particular holiday will be sent to you by the Holiday Organiser.
